The Hellenic Canadian Congress of BC is pleased to announce that June 2008 is officially named the Greek Heritage Month in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. The event, which has enjoyed tremendous success since 2005 will include more cultural activities scheduled at various venues in Vancouver. The grand finale to this event: Greek Day 2008 will take place on Sunday June 22nd, 2008 along the West Broadway corridor in the heart of Kitsilano’s Greek Town.

    WHAT’S NEW FOR 2008

To coincide with the 150 year celebration of BC and the Greek Day celebrations, our theme for this years event is ”Remembering our Past. Sharing our Future”

This theme has been chosen to showcase how Greek Mythology and Ancient Greek Culture has been the guiding light to modern times. The event will showcase the impact that the many Greeks who immigrated to BC made, while maintaining their culture, on the cultural fabric of BC today. This is even more relevant in 2008 as British Columbia celebrates its 150th Anniversary.
